The European Centre for Democratic Resilience (ECDR) has launched the pilot phase of its Stakeholder Platform — a space for the Centre to work with independent civil society, media, fact-checkers, researchers and media-literacy professionals to jointly develop projects that strengthen democratic resilience against disinformation and foreign information manipulation.
The first participating networks are the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) and the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), alongside EU Member States and institutions. The pilot tests how stakeholders and the Centre should cooperate, how to share information on emerging threats, how advice can feed into the Centre’s work, and which common projects to pursue. A wider call for participants is planned for autumn 2026, with a formal launch expected in spring 2027.
The ECDR is the EU-level body whose creation SAUFEX’s research on European Resilience Councils anticipated.
